Business & Entrepreneurship Class
|
Class Description:
Instructor (Bob Blaser)
This class will cover basic business principles, business
startup/entrepreneurship and marketing. Business concepts such as sales,
revenue, gross margin, cash flow, net income and profit will be discussed.
Intellectual Property development and protection will be discussed.
Participants
will be involved in Ideation/brainstorming sessions for developing new
business
concept. Participants will present their business concepts to a Minnow
Tank
panel for feedback.

1. Homeschool Entrepreneurship curriculum
2. Six Thinking Hats methodology for business ideation
3. Entrepreneurship materials based upon instructor experience
4. Public domain materials from a Biblical worldview perspective

Objectives:
Students will learn basic business and entrepreneurial skills. Practical
business start-up skills and challenges will be covered. Students will
present their business concepts presentations and will receive instructive
feedback.

The Fallacy Detective and Intro to Logic Reasoning
|
Class Description:
Instructor (Bob Blaser)
Students will learn what a fallacy is. They will learn methods for
identifying and challenging fallacies and errors in logic.
Example: A cloud is 90% water. A watermelon is 90% water. Therefore,
since a plane can fly through a cloud, a plane can fly through a watermelon.
Class content will be differentiated based upon age and development level of
students. Introduction to logic and logic analysis will be provided for more
advanced students.

1. Homeschool Fallacy Detective Book
2. Exercises with answer key including:
a. logical fallacies and propaganda techniques
b. Peanuts, Dilbert, and Calvin and Hobbes cartoons addressing fallacies.
c. The Fallacy Detective Game
3. More advanced logic and reasoning materials for older and advanced
students

Objectives:
Students will be equipped to support
effective reasoning methods and debate issues of truth and falsehood. Advanced
students will be introduced to logic reasoning and theorems and
inductive/deductive reasoning proof methods.

Space Adventures Class
|
Class Description:
Instructor (Bob Blaser)
This enrichment class provides an overview of space, space exploration and
future space mission objectives. A brief survey of the sciences used in space
exploration will be discussed. The Solar System, planets and their moons will
be covered. Class content will be differentiated based upon age and
development level of students. For example, physics of flight, spacecraft
avionics and aerospace control systems.

Class Materials:
Materials: NASA and Commercial Space (SpaceX, Blue Origin, Virgin Galactic
etc.) public materials. Instructor personal space and science related
materials and information. Public information on the Solar System will be
used. Spaceflight dynamics and avionics materials.

Objectives:
Students will gain a deeper understanding of space, the Solar System and
space exploration. Differentiated learning will focus on physics of flight,
avionics and aerospace control systems.

Biblical Worldview Class
Class Description:
Instructor (Rebekah Fletcher)
This class is a simple, step-by-step instructions on how to examine ideas
through the lens of the Biblical worldview. Students will read and examine
the Bible and ask God for guidance to explain the answers to the key
worldview questions. Literature and cinema will be examined to determine
whether or not the authors or producers incorporate the Biblical worldview
into their works. Early American history ideas, thoughts, and life which
shaped Colonial American will be analyzed and assessed to compare and
contrasts them to the Biblical worldview.

Class Materials:
Materials: The Bible. Applicable curriculum materials are under assessment
and will be provided in the near future.
|

Objectives:
Students will gain a deeper understanding of the Bible and will formulate
assessments and opinions as to what is consistent with a Biblical worldview.
Students will learn about early American history from a Biblical worldview
perspective.
